Bob Tyrrell

I recognise Bob Tyrrell, a senior who goes above and beyond to support those in need in our community. Bob volunteers with MWP Community Care, a non-profit organisation supporting elderly and disabled residents across Manly, Warringah and Pittwater. From transport to appointments and shopping, even social outings, their work makes a real difference. When one vulnerable client was diagnosed with terminal cancer, Bob stepped up without hesitation. Not long afterwards, he faced his own serious health challenges. Remarkably, just two weeks after completing treatment, Bob was back volunteering, supporting others facing difficult circumstances. Bob is known for his reliability, compassion and willingness to truly listen. He ensures that people not only get where they need to go but feel seen and supported along the way. It is no surprise that Bob has been recognised as one of the 2026 Wakehurst Local Seniors of the Year. Bob is an absolute local legend, and our community is better for his service.
