Requests for Congratulatory Letters

Australians living in NSW celebrating a special birthday or wedding anniversary can receive a personal letter of congratulations. Depending on the occasion, the recipient(s) may be eligible for a letter from:

  • His Majesty the King
  • Prime Minister
  • Governor-General
  • NSW Premier
  • Governor of NSW
  • The Speaker

How to Apply

To arrange a message you should contact the State Member of Parliament (MP) of the person or couple celebrating the occasion. 

You will need to provide supporting documentation (photocopies of originals are accepted). For birthdays please provide a birth certificate, passport, or statutory declaration. For wedding anniversaries please provide the marriage certificate or statutory declaration. Statutory declaration forms are available at any Post Office and must show the full names and relevant dates on the form.
