Bus Industry Taskforce event in Dee Why welcome chance for community to provide feedback. During the election campaign I heard from countless locals who were frustrated with the delays, long lines and cancellations that have plagued our bus services.
So the announcement that Dee Why has been chosen as the one of the first locations for a community event hosted by the Bus Industry Taskforce is incredibly welcome.
One of my first steps as Wakehurst’s Independent MP was to speak to Transport Minister Jo Haylen and express the urgent need for the new Minns Government to fix bus services on the Northern Beaches. I also invited Minister Haylen on a tour of the Brookvale bus depot so she could speak directly to drivers about the issues they face.
The Bus Industry Taskforce event taking place at Dee Why RSL on Saturday 24 June is a chance for the community to provide feedback to the new Government in a bid to improve our bus services.
For too long the people of the Northern Beaches have had to put up with deteriorating and unreliable public transport options. With congestion getting worse, it’s crucial the NSW Government invests in our public transport system and returns some of the services cut by the former Government.
I have been heartened by the response of Minister Haylen to date and will continue to stand up for our community and work with the government to find smart solutions to our public transport crisis.
If you have feedback that you’d like me to provide to the Government at the Bus Industry Taskforce event, you can continue to email me at [email protected].
