Community Recognition Statement - Toy Libraries Australia

Today I congratulate Toy Libraries Australia, which has been awarded Marie Claire's 2024 Sustainability Award in the parenting category. The award celebrates companies, organisations and individuals who are doing their bit to recycle and re‑use goods in the community.

Toy Libraries Australia is most certainly committed to an ethos of sustainability. It offers high‑quality educational recycled toys to 183,000 families around the country, preventing a countless number of toys from going to landfill. On 6 June Kerry Dominish, CEO of the EarlyEd Cubby House Toy Library on the Northern Beaches, and the Toy Library Australia representative for New South Wales, accepted the award on behalf of toy libraries across the country.

This award is for every toy library in Australia, with 72 in New South Wales alone, plus the 11,000 amazing volunteers who help out each year and are critical to the success of these services. Toy Libraries Australia is well deserving of this award for not only giving children access to toys but also teaching children the importance of sustainability through play. Well done.
