Community Recognition Statements - Collaroy Tennis Club

I congratulate the Collaroy Tennis Club, which was nominated in four categories at the annual Tennis NSW awards on 17 October. The club received nominations for most outstanding metropolitan club or venue and most outstanding inclusion initiative.

Two players, Isla Gillespie and Rafferty Stevens, were nominated for youth athlete with disability of the year and Pavle Marinkov was nominated for male junior athlete of the year. Collaroy Tennis Club started over 100 years ago and is such an integral part of the northern beaches sporting community. These nominations are very well deserved. The club champions values of inclusion, with purpose-built wheelchair-accessible courts, and leads the community with pride events with the local LGBTQIA+ community that help promote equal opportunity in sport. These nominations are a stunning and remarkable achievement for the club and are testament to its hard work to support players of all ages and abilities. I congratulate Collaroy Tennis Club on being the inclusive club it strives to be, and my community loves it for that.
