Community Recognition Statements - Glam Plus

Today I recognise GLAM Plus, a diverse group of queer young people who connect on the Northern Beaches. Run by the incredible Melissa Spencer and Lee Amber, GLAM Plus is a vital platform for dynamic young people to find social connection, the health and wellbeing benefits of which cannot be overstated.

I also commend the advocacy efforts and initiatives of GLAM Plus member Ben Kioko. Ben is a high school student who has impressed me and our community with his passion and dedication to causes that mean a lot to him. Recently he delivered a powerful speech to the council, which highlighted how important GLAM Plus is to our community. The next chapter for GLAM Plus has been uncertain. Ben's proactive advocacy and Mel's and Lee's unwavering dedication to supporting these young people is incredibly moving. I cannot wait to see what is next in store for these huge local legends.
