I recognise and commend the invaluable work of Josie Parata and Lighthouse for the Community. Josie and her incredible team support people in our community who are enduring the toughest of circumstances.
Lighthouse for the Community was founded to "walk hand in hand" with people impacted by domestic and family violence, homelessness and addiction. Since launching as SMS Lighthouse in 2009, this remarkable organisation has expanded and evolved.
It now has support programs for men and women and provides dynamic support for people enduring significant challenges. Lighthouse for the Community was established for a very serious reason.
The organisation is a direct response to the previous lack of services and networks on the northern beaches that Josie has experienced firsthand. I thank Josie and her team and, as her MP, I reaffirm my commitment to supporting the incredible work they do.
