I rise to recognise the remarkable achievement of Elizabeth McMillen, a Northern Beaches local, and her outstanding performance repping the Green and Gold at the Commonwealth Games. After achieving an outstanding result of 2nd in the Women's 10000m Race Walk final, her recent and prior achievements on the international stage have made many across the nation proud and have inspired young athletes to pursue their dreams. Lizzy's journey is a testament to years of dedication, resilience and determination. Beginning race walking as a young athlete with the Manly Warringah Athletics Club, she has progressed through state, national and international competition to become one of Australia's most promising athletes. Throughout her career, Elizabeth has shown extraordinary perseverance while overcoming the challenges of endometriosis, using her platform to raise awareness and support other young women facing similar experiences. On behalf of my community, I congratulate Elizabeth on her silver medal and wish her every success in the years to come.
