George Sheppard

I would like to recognise the hard work, and dedication of George Sheppard's 48 years of service with the Northern Beaches Bushfire Brigades. His unwavering commitment, leadership, and deep passion for helping the community has made a lasting impact on the Northern Beaches Community When he turned 15 he started to dedicate his time to the RFS through volunteering.

He joined the staff ranks 22 years ago, where he has remained committed to developing the volunteer service, and improving the district where he kept the district and its volunteers at the centre of every decision he made. George was instrumental in improving and developing new training programs including helping to develop the chainsaw course, and his critical role in developing the District Community Fire Unit program. Throughout his service, George has been such an important leader. Even in his retirement, he has decided to return as a volunteer, showing how passionate and dedicated he is to the RFS and helping our community. On behalf of the Northern Beaches Community, I would like to thank George for his service with the RFS. His leadership and dedication have made a lasting impact and we are truly grateful.
