I rise to recognise Jefflyn Ward of Narraweena, honoured with a Community Service Award by Northern Beaches Council on Australia Day for her remarkable contribution to our community. For more than three decades, Jefflyn has supported children and families through her volunteer work with the Dalwood Auxiliary. As leader of the books section, she curates donated books for jumble sales, raising vital funds for services at Dalwood Children's Home, including speech therapy and psychological support for preschoolers. It is practical, hands on service that makes a real difference. A former English and Special Education teacher, Jefflyn brings a lifelong commitment to literacy, learning and inclusion. Her service began in the late 1960s with the Cerebral Palsy Alliance and the Orana Club, supporting people with disabilities and forming lasting friendships. She also mentored young girls through the Girls' Brigade, helping build confidence and resilience. Jefflyn's decades of quiet, consistent service reflect the very best of the Northern Beaches. I congratulate her on this well deserved recognition and thank her for the lasting impact she has made across generations.
