Michelle Povah

I congratulate Michelle Povah on being named Wakehurst Woman of the Year. Michelle is a tireless advocate for women and children experiencing domestic and family violence, and currently serves as the CEO of Women and Children First. Michelle also serves well beyond her day job, believe it or not. She is a Beacon Hill Girl Guides leader and sits on the New South Wales and Australian boards of Physical Disability Rugby League. She also acts as a child safety officer for the Bennelong Orienteering Club. I have witnessed her extraordinary dedication firsthand. Michelle is a respected leader, collaborator and voice for change, working across the government and community sectors to improve outcomes for women and children across the northern beaches. This award is a fitting recognition of Michelle's dedication, integrity and impact. I congratulate her on the incredibly well deserved honour and thank her for the difference she continues to make in the lives of so many in our community.
