Mowana's Free Christmas Lunch

I wish to acknowledge Mel Kypri, Founder and President of Mowana Safe Space for organising the fabulous and free Christmas lunch again this year for those in our community without a home for the holidays. Thank you Mel for your incredible generosity at this time of the year that can be difficult for many. The idea for a community Christmas lunch run by volunteers, aimed at those who feel lonely or suffering financial hardship, started with 30 people in 2023 at the Mind Café in Narrabeen. Last year, it grew to 90 people at the Tramshed Arts and Community Centre, where it will be held again this year. Mowana Safe Space is a peer led community-based service to support people who are experiencing emotional or suicidal distress. Thank you to the local stores for donating the food and the generous volunteers for bringing joy to others again this Christmas. This event is crowd funded by the community. Thank you to all those who have donated to this wonderful lunch.
