Mrs Peta Alexis Miller, AFSM

I congratulate Mrs Peta Alexis Miller AFSM on being awarded the Australian Fire Service Medal in the King's Birthday Honours. Mrs Miller commenced service with Fire and Rescue NSW in 2005 and has served in demanding frontline roles across City of Sydney, Forestville and Manly fire stations. She currently holds the rank of Station Officer at Manly. Her contribution to Urban Search and Rescue has been significant, including work with Australian and New Zealand taskforces, international exercises, and the recertification of Fire and Rescue NSW's USAR capability. Mrs Miller has also supported firefighters and their families through the Fire and Rescue NSW Relief and Welfare Fund, and has quietly mentored women in the service, helping build confidence, capability and culture. This is a very fitting recognition of her leadership, technical expertise and commitment to public safety. On behalf of the Wakehurst community, I congratulate Mrs Miller and thank her for her outstanding service.
