Mrs Valerie May Gordon, OAM

I congratulate Mrs Valerie May Gordon OAM on being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the King's Birthday Honours for service to the communities of Forestville and Killarney Heights. Mrs Gordon has given decades of service to local community life, including as a foundation member of Neighbourhood Watch Killarney Heights, where she served from 1984 to 2023. She has also served as Secretary of the Killarney Heights Progress Association since 2000, contributed to the ANZAC Memorial Pathway at Melwood Oval, and been a member of Warringah View Club since 2007. Through the Forestville RSL Flying Bowlers Section, Mrs Gordon has served as Secretary since 2004, a member since 1996, and was made a Life Member in 2013. Her contribution reflects the best of community service: steady, generous and deeply local. On behalf of the Wakehurst community, I thank Mrs Gordon and congratulate her on this well-deserved honour.
