Save Manly Dam Catchment Committee

I am delighted to acknowledge that Save Manly Dam Catchment Committee has been awarded the "Community Group Award" in the 2025 Greater Sydney Landcare and Bushcare Awards. Out of 933 Landcare and Bushcare groups across our region, this is an outstanding achievement.

The committee's mission is to protect, promote, and preserve biodiversity in the Manly Warringah War Memorial State Park and its connecting bushland. Their work is vital for our local environment, whether it's restoring the iconic Mermaid Pools, running bushcare sessions, or campaigning wherever nature is under threat. Just last week, the team welcomed Greta Stevens from Clean Up Australia for a bushcare and rubbish removal event, with extra support from Will at the UNSW Water Research Laboratory. A heartfelt thank you to every volunteer, past and present, from those pulling weeds and removing rubbish to those writing submissions and advocating for stronger environmental laws. Thank you for being our eyes on the ground and guardians protecting this crown in the jewel that is Manly Dam. If you care about conservation, I encourage you to get involved. Congratulations again to everyone at the Save Manly Dam Catchment Committee, this recognition is thoroughly deserved.
