I recognise the inaugural STRYDE4 Day on the Northern Beaches, held on Tuesday 19 May 2026 during National Volunteer Week. STRYDE4 Day brought together schools, businesses, charities, volunteers and local community members for an 8 kilometre coastal walk from Keirle Park, Manly to Curl Curl Lagoon and back. Described as a "Festival of Purpose", the event was about much more than fundraising. It was a celebration of wellbeing, connection, creativity and kindness. The course featured 15 activation zones, including a silent disco, ice bath immersion, bucket golf, sporting challenges and other activities designed to get people moving, talking and connecting. I was pleased to help open the event walk and to have met with organisers Donna Armstrong and Geoff Coombes OAM in the months leading up to the event. Their vision and energy helped bring this wonderful initiative to life. STRYDE4 Day worked with more than 30 charities, many based on the Northern Beaches, with 100 per cent of funds raised going directly to their nominated High Impact Projects. I congratulate Donna, Geoff, the STRYDE4 team, participating charities, volunteers, sponsors, schools, businesses and everyone who took part in this generous and community-minded event.
