I celebrate the fantastic achievements of the Warringah Archers, who had great success with six athletes selected for the national youth championship in Tasmania last month. I congratulate Maja Kecskes, Eve Whitear, Lily Young, Anna Young, Audrey Verzosa and Julia Verzosa. They have made our community extraordinarily proud, and earned several medals over five days of competition. Maja, Eve, Lily and Audrey were selected to represent the New South Wales teams and, stunningly, they helped to gain victory, with the recurve team taking first overall and the compound team securing a strong fifth-place finish. It is outstanding that so many from my community have been selected for the State team. I acknowledge also Julia and Anna, who both performed exceptionally well and placed highly in their individual competitions. These archers have given their club and their families every reason to cheer. Archery is a sport that demands calm heads and sharp focus, so their dedication should be celebrated. I truly love to see local teams like the Warringah Archers hitting their targets and making their mark across the nation. Well done.
