Written Community Recognition Statements - Pani Hopoate and Narraweena Hawks Junior

Today I applaud Pani Hopoate from the Sydney Roosters NRLW team and her junior club the Narraweena Hawks. Pani helped the Roosters claim victory in a very close game against the Cronulla Sharks for this year's premiership. The Narraweena Hawks Junior Rugby League Club is an awesome community-oriented club based in my electorate.

Our local clubs like the Hawks are fostering formidable players who have what it takes to go pro. And it's clear to see given Pani's skill at the game and a near 93% tackle efficiency after just 3 seasons playing first-grade with the Roosters. The Hawks also had great success in the 2024 season with four teams winning grand final matches in August and September. There is certainly a new generation of sporting legends coming through the ranks who may one day be representing their city in the big leagues just like Pani. To Pani and the Narraweena Hawk's I offer my congratulations on the grand final wins and I wish your teams more success in the seasons to come.
