Collaroy Tennis Club and Evolve Tennis Academy: All Abilities

I'm so pleased to recognise Collaroy Tennis Club and Evolve Tennis Academy for their commitment to making tennis accessible to people with disabilities. On Sunday 25th October, they will host a free community event as part of Tennis Australia's All Abilities Week. The program includes wheelchair tennis, blind and low vision tennis, para-standing tennis, and a coaching session for people with intellectual disability and autism. Importantly, there will also be opportunities for members of the public to get on court and try wheelchair tennis themselves. Sport offers opportunities for new friends, confidence and belonging. I know a lot of time and great energy goes into creating those opportunities with coaching, welcoming clubs and people actively removing barriers to participation. I commend the organisers, coaches, volunteers and players who are helping make that happen at Collaroy. Thank you for showing what inclusion looks like in practice. I wish everyone involved a wonderful day and continued success in opening the court to more members of our community. I can't wait to join!
