Community Recognition Statement - Be Centre

Today I acknowledge and celebrate the incredible work of Be Centre, a pioneering institution located in our very own northern beaches. Offering a unique and highly effective early childhood intervention, Be Centre utilises art and play therapy, revolutionising how we approach the mental wellbeing of our young ones and their families.

Though play therapy may be relatively novel to Australia, its effectiveness cannot be understated. We are fortunate that right here, in this region of Sydney, Be Centre stands out not only as an exclusive beacon of hope for our northern beaches families but also as one of the world's largest specialist play therapy centres. Recently I had the privilege of attending its fundraising gala, a testament to our community's dedication to this great cause. I have also been fortunate enough to partake in a group session—it was hard to tell who was the bigger kid. Be Centre is reshaping countless futures, leading Australia in making play therapy accessible and transformative. Let us all commend its monumental impact. I thank the Be Centre team for the incredibly positive difference it is making. I look forward to one day welcoming the health Minister to the centre. I thank the House!
