I congratulate Link Wentworth on recently celebrating its fortieth year as a community housing provider [CHP]. CHPs like Link Wentworth play a vital role in delivering affordable housing options to individuals and families in need, and in reducing the rate of homelessness.
In August I was lucky enough to attend Link's celebration in Dee Why, where I talked to staff and tenants about their decades of experience with the provider. It was heartening to hear just how much of a difference secure housing can make to an individual's life and overall wellbeing. In a phenomenal achievement of celebrating 40 years, recently Link Wentworth announced a partnership with Landcom to redevelop the dilapidated former Queenscliff Community Health Centre, which is in the electorate of the member for Manly.
The development will have 37 dwellings, with at least 12 to be dedicated for women over 55 years of age, which is a demographic at higher risk of homelessness. The northern beaches community is desperately in need of more affordable housing properties, so I thank Link Wentworth and Landcom for their hard work in pushing this project along. I offer my congratulations to CEO and Swans fan Andrew McAnulty and the entire Link Wentworth team.
Go the mighty Swans!
