I congratulate Gemma Sellick and celebrate her outstanding debut with the Australian Dolphins in the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Gemma brought home a silver medal for the S9 100-metre backstroke and stood proudly alongside her close friend Victoria Nicholson, who brought home a bronze. At just 16, it is thrilling to see our homegrown talent shining on an international stage. Gemma is an accomplished swimmer with Warringah Aquatic Centre, where she has firmly established herself across the club's honour roll and represented Warringah impressively for a number of years. She qualified to swim in Glasgow after blasting through qualifying times in the Gold Coast at the World Para Swimming World Series in February. Gemma also progressed through Monday's morning heats and placed fifth in the women's S8B 100-metre breaststroke, an incredible accomplishment of which I and the rest of her community are incredibly proud. I congratulate Gemma. I have no doubt that we will have the pleasure of watching her future accomplishments over the rest of her career. Up the Dolphins!
