Mali Lovell

I congratulate one of my constituents, Mali Lovell, who will proudly represent Australia at the 2025 World Para Athletics Championships in India in the 200-metre T36 event. Mali first hit the track at just 12 years old. By 17, she was in the running for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympic Games.

Mali missed out that time but came back blazing and earned a silver medal at her first major international competition, the 2023 World Para Athletics Championships in Paris. The winning did not stop there. Mali also won a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Summer Paralympic Games in the women's 200 metre T36 event. Off the track, Mali is just as inspiring. She dedicates her time to volunteering with the Cerebral Palsy Alliance's sporting team and helping kids with disabilities discover the joy of sport. Mali also received the honour of being named the 2023 Amy Winters Female Para Athlete of the Year by Athletics Australia. Mali is a champion in every sense of the word. I wish her good luck in India. We will be cheering her on.
