Millie Tonkin

I would like to recognise and congratulate Millie Tonkin from the Manly Warringah Sapphires for being named as a finalist in one of Netball NSW's top honours. Millie was nominated for the Premier League Open Player of the Year medal named after Hall of Famer, Nance Kenny OAM. This is a particularly special award, with nominees being voted on by teams across the season. This is an incredible honour and a reflection of the hard work and performance Millie has consistently displayed throughout the 2025 season. And it caps off a brilliant year. In August, Millie played an integral role in leading her Sapphires team to victory in the Opens Grand Final, winning 48-44 over North Shore United after a second-half comeback. Being a finalist for the Nance Kenny Medal shows her dedication and the respect she has earned across the league. While she did not take the medal this time, she has certainly set a cracking example for her club and young sport stars in our community. I wish Millie the very best of luck and continued success both on and off the court. Congratulations.
